Essie Holiday Mini Nail Color Kit Review and Swatches
I saw this little kit at Target and I believe it would make a perfect gift this holiday season. Essie is a super popular nail polish brand for obvious reasons. The polishes are consistently good and they have a great range of colors. This particular Holiday Mini Nail Color Kit comes with 4 perfect winter appropriate nail polishes. A nice grey, beautiful red, a gold glitter top coat, and a mint, my personal favorite. Keep scrolling for my review and swatches.
These mini polishes have .16oz in each bottle. A normal sized Essie polish is .5oz. So combined, you get about .64oz of product in this kit. I got mine at Target for $12.99 and I think it was a great deal considering I get to try 4 nail polishes from a really good brand.
The color scheme Essie chose is perfect for the holidays, Very cool tones shades, all wearable, and the gold polish makes it very festive. In my swatches, I layered two coats of polish for each nail. I did a sloppy job with these swatches, but the color is still very true to what you see in the bottle. Cocktail Bling and Mind Your Mittens were super opaque, but benefitted from a second coat to smooth everything out. A-List is much thinner, but easily buildable. I only did two swatches for A-List to keep everything consistent, but I could have easily done a third. Rock At The Top was exactly what I expect with a glitter polish. The gold glitter is just meant to be a top coat, and I think it would look great paired with A-List or Mind Your Mittens.
I think girls of all ages would love a set like this. It would be great if you are apart of a gift exchanging party, or don't want to break the bank getting your friend a thoughtful gift. Personally, I would be thrilled receiving a cute gift set like this. The colors are so winter festive and I can even carry Mind Your Mittens and A-List into the summer months. If you wanted to make this gift a little bigger, it would be so easy for you to add this into a pampering gift bag or even pair it with some grooming tools and nail polish remover. You can also divide the polishes up and give them out as four different small gifts. Pinterest has tons of cute mason jar gifts, and this mini polishes would work great in those!
I look forward to reviewing more holidays sets this season! I'm currently working on a gift guide for all price ranges, so stay tuned for that. What brand puts out your favorite gift sets?
