Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Eye Shadow + Built in Primer Review

I swore to myself that I was going to hold off on buying drugstore makeup for a little while (to save money, because when something is cheap I buy more of it, which ends up costing me more) but when I saw this at Target, I needed to see if the claims were true. Neutrogena claims that these new eye shadows are long wearing with a built in primer in them. Built in primer?? No way. There was no way these were going to allow me to get away with not using a base. But, I tried it. And I must say, well done Neutrogena!

I have oily eyelids, so things crease on me even with a base sometimes. I was obviously super skeptical about these, and went in thinking I was for sure going to be sitting here later on in the day writing a bad review. I was pleasantly surprised to find I had barely any creasing after my 8 hour day. Actually, I would even go as far to say my eyeshadow looked better at the end of the day than it did in the beginning. But, lets talk about the pigmentation. The pigmentation isn't the worst, but it also isn't the greatest. The dark brown wasn't as deep as I would have wanted it to be, and two of the shades look extremely similar. But, what can I say? Neutrogena never claimed for these to be highly pigmented. The color selection was also very bland. It was very hard for me to pick which quad I wanted because they just all looked the same, except for the one that was obviously meant for a black smokey eye.

If you're a minimalist, this is the quad for you! Not only will the colors suit your simple, wearable makeup look, but it doesn't even require a primer. For me personally, it was a cool thing to try out, but I don't see myself reaching for this quad due to the fact that I have an infinite amount of colors just like these that are just a little more pigmented. Still, what an awesome find, and hopefully other drugstore brands come out with similar products. I'd love to see more of a variety.

I just wanted to show the tiny pit of creasing I had with these. Obviously nothing to fuss over, but I'm sure people are going to be curious. And again, there was absolutely no eye shadow primer used under this. After 8 hours of wear, I'd say that's pretty amazing! Someone find me an under eye concealer that does that, lol.
