My Top 5 Favorite Eyeshadow Palettes

I have over 20 makeup palettes. I personally think that is a ridiculous amount considering I only have 5 favorite palettes to share. It isn't like I don't like my other makeup palettes though, these  are just the ones I reach for the most and have whatever I am looking for most of the time. What I look for in a palette includes, but is not limited to: a good color scheme, a mix of mattes and shimmer, practical packaging, excellent pigmentation and good blendability. This is in no particular order...

Urban Decay Naked 1. I own all 3 of the Naked Palettes. I love the 1st and the 2nd one. I don't love the 3rd one, but that just because the colors aren't for me. My favorite of the 3 is Naked 1. Naked 1 just appeals to me more. The shades are more copper and golden and a bit more warm than the Naked 2. I reach for this palette the most out of the 3 although the blendability and pigmentation is similar all throughout. My favorite shades from Naked 1 are Sin, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, and Dark Horse. $52

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. I love this palette. The colors are so soft and blendable. The shades are perfect for me too. I have no interest in buying the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar because I just don't love the shades in there. Another plus to this palette is that it smells like chocolate. It's the most delicious smelling makeup in the whole world. My favorite shades are Milk Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Marzipan, Creme Brulee, and Champagne Truffle. I love Champagne Truffle as an eyeshadow and also a cheek highlight. Thankfully, Champagne Truffle is larger than all the rest of the shades, so it is easy for my cheek highlight brush to pick up the product. $49

LORAC Unzipped GOLD Palette. I am very positive this palette was made for me. I LOVE gold eyeshadows. They are my weakness. I feel like I need to try every gold eyeshadow ever made. These gold shades are stunning. They are pigmented and very metallic and shimmery. I don't love the matte shades, but I have mattes from other palettes I love so that is not an issue. My main draw to this palette is the golds. I love every gold shade in here. The mirror in this palette is also a nice size and I use it a lot when I am doing my makeup. $42

The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude. This is an all matte palette. I love it. It is my absolute go to for when I need a matte shadow. These shadows are pigmented, blendable and versatile. You could also find your eyebrow shade in here too. I've used Matt Wood on my eyebrows before and it was a perfect match. My favorite colors are Matt Wood, Matt Rosen, and Matt Singh. $42

Kat Von D Ladybird Palette. Another all matte palette but the shades in this one are very unique and different from Meet Matt(e) Nude. I also like the formula a little more in this palette. The shadows are smoother and softer. It makes me wonder if I should try the Shade and Light Eyeshadow palette, but do I really need so many mattes? Anyway, This palette is really beautiful and the colors are what really draws me in, especially the burn orange at the end. I got an excellent deal on this too. It came with 2 brown eyeliners, 1 black eyeliner, and the glitter black liquid eyeliner in Jett. Unfortunately, it is not available anymore. $49

I wanted to include a little side-by-side comparison of the two matte palettes. As you can see, there is not a dupable shade in these two. Matt Garcia and the second to last shade in the Ladybird Palette are questionable, but in person they look very different.

Let me know what your favorite palette is! Or your top 5 if you can't pick one :)
