For my face, I need foundation, concealer and a primer. Traveling is the time for utilizing those samples you get with purchases, when you spend points at Sephora, etc. For my primer, I brought the MAC Prep + Prime Base sample I received with my purchase. It is very tiny so it didn't take up much room. I needed a concealer so I brought my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. I like this concealer because I can use it under my eyes and to cover any blemishes, plus it lasts all day. Then, here is my trick: I squeezed my foundation into a little sample jar I got from Nordstrom. Doing this helped save tons of space and I even had products left over. The sample jars are completely free.
For cheeks, which is also an essential, I took out my Makeup Forever Trio palette. Tip #2: the Anastasia Beverly Hills powders fit right into the wells of this palette. For just $1, you can transfer your contour shade and highlight into this neat, compact palette. I added in the Makeup Forever blush shade, and I had my cheek essentials. This is tons easier to carry instead of bringing the entire Contour Kit. In reality, you are probably only using a few shades from the Contour Kit anyway.
When you're traveling, the last thing you want is to be lugging around your whole makeup collection. I hope this helped as a little guideline for when you are packing and I hope you found my two tips helpful!
