I absolutely adore lipstick. I love my pinky-browns, reds, dark nudes and burgundies. I usually don't like to leave my house bare-lipped. Even when I'm running out the door I like to apply a tinted lip balm at least. I think color on the lips is a great way to bring life to your face. The difference between a quick layer of tinted lip balm or wearing lipstick is the level of put together you look. I feel like I look so much more put together with a nice even layer of lipstick. Here are my favorite low maintenance lipsticks that I can apply whenever, wherever, and without a mirror.
I know they all probably look the same, but they all swatch differently, I swear! I obviously have a lipstick type though. I pick these lipsticks over most others in my collection because I can wear these on their own and they still look amazing. Hence the "throw-in-the-bag and go" title, I can skip a mirror, lipliner, and even lip balm with these lipsticks. I can easily apply them in the car before I head into school or work.
MAC Amorous. This is one of my favorite MAC lipsticks. It's a satin so it provides a slight shine to the lips and it is this beautiful semi-deep berry shade. It doesn't show up super dark on my tan skin, but I love the color it gives to my lips. I love wearing this shade on it's own.
Maybelline Nude Nuance. This is a new favorite. It is the perfect matte nude for tan skin. I usually steer clear of nudes because I don't want them to be the same color as my skin, but this one is just deep enough to still add color to my face. It is so comfortable and since it is matte, I feel like it makes me look even more put together.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Lipstick in Peony. This one is the sheerest of all five but I still love the color on myself. It's a beautiful pinky nude that does not wash me out. It is also super hydrating so I love that quality in this lipstick.
Maybelline Touch of Spice. It never fails, I always get a compliment on my lipstick when I wear this shade. It is a dark, matte pink-brown shade and I think those are most flattering on myself. Like Nude Nuance, it is extremely comfortable on the lips and so pigmented.
MAC Twig. The big difference between this shade and Touch of Spice is that Twig is a satin. I actually wore Twig to my senior prom, so it has a bit of sentimental value to me. Like Touch of Spice, Twig is a pinky-brown. It is a beautiful color on me and I love wearing it alone or with a lipliner.
